Dept. collaborated with Utile to develop a neighborhood framework plan in Houston's Second Ward. The plan creates an identity for the district by foregrounding walkable urbanism through the design of the public realm as well as through testing different mixed-use density scenarios across multiple sites. Specifically, Dept. focused on the connecting disparate open spaces within the district with an urban promenade that links the light rail to the Buffalo Bayou trail system.
